'Russian Flexi-Discs'

These bizarre items are not official but kinda interesting in the diversity of tracks and the unusual art used.

There are also some Polish Postcards, most featuring "School's Out' but I`ve seen listings for 'Elected' (Glowala 0162), 'Generation Landslide' and 'Mary Ann' (with historical painting on cover) as well. The flexi was peeled off the postcard to use.

"The three Polish postcards (orange, green and yellow) were all issued in the 1970s... very heavy plastic pressings. The unique thing about these is that they are two artists and two tracks... both tracks and artists fit with an early 1970s genre.  The orange one includes "Sylvia's Mother" by Dr Hook and the Medicine Show and "Scholl's Out" (love the typo!) by Alice Cooper. The green one has "Part of the Union" by The Strawbs and "Hello Hurray" by Al Cooper (another great typo!). The yellow one is a great... "Crazy Horses" by The Osmonds and "Elected" by Alice Cooper... what a classic period piece combo! The other unique feature (in contrast to the flexis issued in the 1980s and 1990s) is that these flexis have embossed printing on both sides... not just artists and tracks, but manufacturer's name, address and postcard styled markings on the reverse of the flexi. Obviously, very little concern about the legalities... or perhaps some sort of distribution was authorized?

1980 Polish Postcard

The 1980's Polish postcards have a stick-on acetate pressing on top of a standard styled postcard. And oddly affixed to the back-side is a sticker that reads "Alice Cooper - Koniec Nauki" (translation "School's Out") " (Paul Brenton)
