Re: Another "Halo Of Flies" question
On the subject of the Moog, the late Brian Nelson suggested that the horn section on the last part of "Under My Wheels" was a Moog as well. Does this sound accurate? I was shocked at that because it really does sound like a horns section!

Re: "Road" - Reviews
I rate this above "Detroit Stories" and a little above "Paranormal." The issues I have with this are more to do with production/mixing than anything. The guitars sound a little muddy to me and Alice is way too high in the mix on several of these songs, IMHO. The one song that drives me crazy is "Bab...

Re: NWAC ending???
It's been on the air for 20 years so there might be a number of reasons why. I do know United Stations let go of some people not long ago including long time producer Katherine Turman. So it could be "budget cuts."

Re: Nita Strauss is back
Kane Roberts was never intended to be a permanent replacement. It was also quite clear that Nita could be back at any time. By the way, did anyone catch Nita's announcement to listen to Nights with Alice Cooper on March 21st for a special surprise? My gut reaction says it could be the debut of a new...

My apologies. I don't have the book yet and didn't realize that was a requirement to participate. I apologize if this prevented him from responding, which he has no obligation to do of course.

Session Players
Hey Dennis, One thing that is very clear as the ACG albums went on was the increased use in Session Players, notably lead guitar players starting with Rick Derringer on "Under My Wheels" and continuing on with Hunter/Wagner on the "School's Out" album. Eventually, Glen was all but replaced on the la...

Re: Phil X talks about and demonstrates some of his guitar playing on the Brutal Planet album
Sorry for the late reply - I just wanted to add I think some here might be in for a rude awakening at how often this happens, even with Alice Cooper albums. My impression is Alice trusts the actual music recording to the producer and the musicians to handle for the most part, being generally aware o...

That looks like to be a Flush The Fashion pass laminate on the guy's shirt, so would be closer to 1980 I think.Dannorama wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 4:48 pmTalk about frightening. Not sure if this is '83, but... Holy sht.

Re: Detroit Stories Review
Just an observation, but "Shut Up and Rock" shares most of the same personnel as most of the tracks on "Paranormal," including Larry Mullens Jr on Drums. I wonder if it was a previously unused track?

It seems as though the reunion of Ezrin/Cooper has not been as fruitful as I was hoping. "Wonderful World" is more in line with what I'd like to hear though.

Robert Fripp and Toyah Wilcox tackle "School's Out." Ummm... view discretion maybe advised.

But they did make names for themselves. Just check their MySpace pages.guttertrash wrote: ↑Sat Sep 01, 2018 10:52 pmThat album has always come off to me as two music hacks that tried to make a name for themselves by working with Alice.

Re: Long-time Alice Cooper artist Airic Brumitt needs help
This reminds me of Howard Stern. His long time engineer's wife recently was battling cancer (she passed away a couple of weeks ago sadly.) . He set up a gofundme page because her costs were astronomical for full time care, transportation, etc. People jumped all over Howard's case only because "he di...

Nita Strauss @ Sweetwater Gearfest - June 23
Nita Strauss will be appearing at Sweetwater Gearfest in Fort Wayne, Indiana this Saturday, June 23. It's a huge consumer trade show type of thing and is free and open to the public. She is appearing on behalf of Ibanez Guitars and will be giving a "Tips & Insights" which she will likely be performi...

Re: Micharel Bruce book new edition
I'll admit I've never read the book (I'm generally not into these kinds of things anyway) but I remember reading through the Sickthings Archive and seeing that it did create a little drama with Alice & Michael. They seemed to patch things up but it was a shame the way it all went down especially whe...

Re: I still think Paranormal is mediocre........
I think the first half has some decent stuff, the second half sounds like it falls apart (Although I really like Private Public Breakdown.) I think a couple of issues here are that Alice doesn't seem to have a real song-writing partner anymore (I know you could argue Bob Ezrin is, but how much is Al...
