Re: Japan mini lps coming at last

I have a Linn system, and I can assure you they make some decent stuff. I really have no idea what you're talking about with regards to these being "through the roof" - they're patently not. But you know, you'll find all kinds of things around the net, you just have to learn not to believe everythin...

Re: Peter Criss Book: Bob Ezrin Story

That's an interesting read. Looks like Criss hasn't attempted to sanitize anything. Ezrin seems to have had quite the problem. Still, he did some amazing work despite it!

Re: Bowie

You sound like a bit of a coward You can choose to believe that if you wish. But there is nothing cowardly about not wanting to pollute a board I have just joined by reacting to overly aggressive posts that attack me. I'm an adult, not a child, and I find such behavior juvenile and ignorant. Hence,...

Re: Bowie

Vaughan are you going to ignore me as well as a cowardly way of retreating from an argument you can't win? How old are you, five? I have made it clear why I won't be responding to that previous board member, so see no reason to repeat it here. It is what it is. I'm not "retreating", or pulling out ...

Re: Bowie

Apologies to (almost) all - but I have no intention of reading and responding to all that. Just take it I don't value certain opinions, nor will I bother myself to respond directly to them.

Re: Flush The Fashion +Dada ?

Personally I think both Zipper and Flush have their moments - and if the best of both of them had been combined into a single release, we'd be talking a classic. But yeah, the bad really is bad - and lets things down. I think this is a problem that haunts Special Forces too, they're uneven. Fortunat...

Re: Easy Action

You know, I largely ignored the two early recordings for all this time. But I recently bought the two boxes of Japanese Cooper releases (Mini LP) and since they both came with that, I decided to give them another go..... Now, obviously neither are Love It To Death, which is some way feels like a dif...

Re: Bowie

Oops, I just realized whom I was responding too. I've been a member on this board for what, three days - and your jumped on me twice in my first 9 posts. You are clearly someone who likes to bicker and put others down. As such, please understand that I'll be ignoring you in the future - please don't...

Re: Bowie

Well, what we have here is a difference of opinion, unless of course you have the numbers. How many articles were published in the mainstream press about Alice, and how many about Bowie? Not conjecture, numbers. I don't have them, but there was the little matter of Ziggy Stardust in 1972 for Bowie.....

Re: Special Forces in Paris DVD

I have a copy I got online.... wow is this BAD. Cooper looks ill, and whoever persuaded him the Clones segment was a good idea ought to have been shot.

Re: Bowie

I'm a Bowie fan, such a great artist. As to his history.... back in the day - I'm talking about through 1980, but especially the 70's - you have to remember the world was a very different place. No Internet, no email. So everything we knew about "foreign" artists in the UK came through the media (do...

Re: His Creepiest Song

Dario Argento didn't ever write the music for his movies, it was mostly Goblin, with some Morricone in there too. Spooky? Mary Ann. It's such a fabulously alluring song, but has that knife to stick in your gut in the final line. Yet it bops along quite nonchalantly, and Alice delivers it as though he...

Re: Japan mini lps coming at last

If, but "modern recording techniques" you mean the loudness wars, then I respectfully disagree. I'm just not hearing it, and any suggestion it's a problem is wide of the mark, imo. What I hear is more detail, better isolation of instruments, and clarity. I hear no distortion at all. After what I pai...

Re: Japan mini lps coming at last

I have all of these, I bought them with the Billion Dollar Babies and Welcome to My Nightmare boxes. I don't understand the criticism of the sound quality, since these are easily the best I've ever heard this recordings. I can't even begin to compare to the Warner releases - the original releases we...

Re: Cut Down Alice Cooper "Old School Reissue"

Hey guys. I certainly didn't intend to start any trouble over this thread, it was a genuine attempt to let anyone who didn't already know that a cheaper version of Old School was hitting the market. As I said, I did look at previous thread titles, and didn't see anything that specifically addressed ...

Re: Cut Down Alice Cooper "Old School Reissue"

Apologies for not doing a search. I did look through the thread titles, but didn't see anything. To be honest my head nearly exploded when I saw this, hence my excitement. I've gotten close to buying the original release a few times, but in the end have backed off. To see this at this price point is...

Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day: BATTLE AXE

Funnily enough, I played this today. I have the 3 CD reissue (which is easy enough to pick up) and the vinyl somewhere (with the robot guy with an axe on the cover). To be honest I don't think it's any good. Cooper fans no doubt feel compelled to look it up, because it's the classic band members. Bu...

Cut Down Alice Cooper "Old School Reissue"

Hey guys. Alice fan here. I've been wanting to buy the Old School box set, but my pockets aren't deep enough! But when I was checking today I saw it's being reissued in a cut down version for 27 quid! I'm sure you all know about it - but in case not.... The inserts seem missing. Not sure what the bo...
