Re: "Alice wouldn't do that, he would do this."

been listening yesterday to Zipper and Dada when at the time I heard them , that was not the music I expected from the Alice I had in mind, then. ( the Killer-School's out- alice) now, if I separate that image from the music, it's a whole other story. Even Dyslexia from Dada sounds "acceptable" now ...

Re: Why was Trash such a big hit over the superior Hey Stoop

on the Trash title: I remember an interview at the time where the question was : promoting the album standing on a trash-collecting truc : how low can you go ? and Alice said something like: well,in the beginning, they said we produced trash and were not going to last , so here it is,right in your f...

Zombie Dance would do fine as an opener imo.
and it would not be too difficult to find some background pictures or stage setup for this one.. :alice:

Re: ALICE Says Covers Album Features A 'Jaw-Dropping' Lineup

interesting remark brought up : should Alice be in character on this cover cd ore just barely Alice (without makeup etc..) I think from the point of view of being more recognisable, more identifiable with a known artist, "our" Alice would be better . (An album with covers by let's say Vincent Furnie...

since this is an Alice-related site, why not accept what Alice also said about this in the past :
I don't talk about religion or politics : the one is too personal, the other one too boring.

Re: Lace & Whiskey and Maurice Escargot

due to this thread, been listening to the album again.. Least thing one can say it is a very atypical Alice album.. question for the other old-timers :I wonder : was there any fuss in America about Alice changing (or trying to change) his image ? (over here we hardly heard anything at all at that ti...

Re: Are There Any Fans That Prefer Alice's Solo Career

I think if the Alice-solo story had not continued, we wouldn't be here, would we ? the very very first article I read way back in the seventies about this then new and shocking phenomenon -Alice Cooper - all talked about that thin blackhaired guy with posters ripped to pieces and snake and all the r...

Re: The Alice Cooper Show.....

Is the King Biscuit show commercially available? I don't think i've ever heard it. No, but being a radio broadcast it's one of the most common bootleg recordings around, Saginaw '78. Always thougt this album should have been officialised instead of the alice cooper show live album.. Has everything ...

Re: Your biggest disappointment in Alice's career

pity you feel that way. especially TLT has it strong moments ( Nothing's free standing out to me), al be it that the finale of the cd is somewhat "forced" imo.. even TEOC and certainly WTMNM2 have some songs that sound fresh and above all, Alice sounds enthousiastic, still strong voiced.. (ACAS I ag...

perhaps one of the reasons why Alice "doesn't remember" having made ao this record ;)
(strange however that "it's hot tonight " does get a place in the setlist now and then.. )

Re: Hey Stoopid Opinions?

Agree with Dadascot : Trash brought Alice back in the charts which was unexpected at the time and Hey Stoopid did not fulfill entirely the expectations, but, imo, it has indeed a couple of very strongs songs and ,again imo, there are no really weak songs (type ubangi stomp or no more love etc.. ) . ...

Re: Is it worth recording new albums?

I think Mr Barlow has several good points in his post. I'd like once again to compare with Deep Purple: the different compositions of the group lead to different styles, more or less recognisable ( you cannot replace Ian Gillan unnoticed :) ), whereas to the non hardcore Alice fan, the difference be...

seeiing all those titles from the past:the mysterie of the final cover choice.. I remember in the early days wading through those records hoping to find something by Alice, and stumbling across ZCS of Lace and Whiskey, with nothing of a(classic) Alice reference on it..Same for the DD cover..(took me...

Re: Is Alice still artistically relevant?

Agree with Hunter : if Alice's music is relevant to me, that should do . In the old days it was easier to be influential , now there is just too much choice, so much diversity. Back then you could name the top ten bands ( most of them still known by the youngsters), now you have the one hit wonders ...

Re: Grande Ballroom - Alice Cooper?

this forum has been usurped by the younger 'solo' crowd. Alice's career is build on those early albums and shows, everyone knows that. -------------- And it is precisely this fact that is keeping those songs, and in a way, the ACG itself alive. Suppose Alice hadn't been going on the way he did, I d...
