Re: Vampires UK dates with the Darkness and the Damned

I wrote quite a long blog post about this last year, my frustrations trying to get tickets for Depeche Mode/BBC 6music Festival, Alice, and Penn & Teller. https://embracetheabsurdity.wordpress.com/2017/04/08/tickets-touts-and-the-bbc-6-music-festival/ I've had a look at the SEC presale today and hav...

Re: Vampires UK dates with the Darkness and the Damned

The problem is that there is no way of knowing who, if anyone, will be selling the good seats. As shown by the last tour, many of the best seats went on public sale a few weeks before the show! The pre-sales had garbage. I fully expect it to be the same for this. Exactly why I don't think I'm going...

Re: Vampires UK dates with the Darkness and the Damned

I was excited for about five minutes, until I realised that this will most likely be another seated gig, with a shambolic rush to find decent tickets (that don't include a £1000 meet-and-greet), which I expect to cost about £60 with fees. All to see what is, in effect, a glorified covers band. I thi...

Were any of the UK shows filmed? I'm sort of hoping there might be a DVD forthcoming....

Re: Dennis Dunaway

I found myself backstage in Glasgow, which was a very last-minute arrangement. Dennis asked me if I wanted a picture, or if I had something for him to sign. Me: I have nothing for you to sign, I didn't know I was going to meet you. DD: Oh, okay. (Reaching into his pocket and handing me it) Here, hav...

Re: MANCHESTER 15/11

I've just checked Glasgow again - more tickets available, different availability to when I checked the other day. There's a row in the block in front of the stage that has only two tickets sold. On the block that's Audience Left, there are two full empty rows midway back. The place is gonna be full ...

Glasgow meet-up?

Anyone made a plan? Anyone want to make one? Also, if you're in town early with time to kill, and want to do something other than drink(!), there's a new live-action scare attraction right next to Central Station - called Dread - it's a guided scare tour. There's a 2-tickets-and-food deal here: http...

Re: MANCHESTER 15/11

Feel sick seeing the tickets on sale in Glasgow much closer to the front and a better view for not much more than what I paid for worse tickets. Ticketmaster (or whoever) has ruined this for me. This whole thing has been a kick in the teeth. I've already bought a ticket in the presale, and a margin...

A BBC article today reports: "[Noel Fielding] explained that he recently lost a stone to play the singer Alice Cooper."

Anyone know where or why?

I downloaded it tonight. I'll buy the CD in Fopp when it's out, but right now I'm on track 4 and no regrets. I need this.

The Many Faces Of Alice Cooper box set

Searching doesn't throw up any references to this, that I could see... Pre-orders, for a release mid-July. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0714KHBYN/ "...including material from both the original band members and Alice as solo artist, as well as highlighting their most iconic repertoire. The Ma...

Re: Tour 2017!

Oh I did enjoy reading this, well done Sir. Thanks everyone who has taken the time to read, or left nice comments, and for sharing if you did - I put a ridiculous amount of time into writing, rewriting, editing, and proofreading these things. For my part, I've given up on arena shows - I'd like to ...

Re: Tour 2017!

Well said. Couldn`t agree more. The industry has sucked the joy out of going to shows by their greed (scalping their own tickets, HUGE car parking fees to attend, over priced food/drink) and inability to do a simple job properly. I could tell you about having to buy TM "platinum" tickets for Wemble...

Re: Tour 2017!

I have just published a long blog post about tickets and touts, largely inspired by the Alice fiasco this year and also encompassing the recent Depeche Mode gig in Glasgow - sales for which were handled even worse. https://embracetheabsurdity.wordpress.com/2017/04/08/tickets-touts-and-the-bbc-6-musi...

Re: Tour 2017!

Will be booking up a ticket tomorrow in the General Sale for Glasgow. Any suggestions as to what might be the best website? I usually use Ticketmaster, but it sounds like their tickets are some of the furthest from the stage. Don't bother with Tickets Scotland, they only have block 225 available, a...
