Goodness...GNDM...you need to get rid of those shoes, because you are walking down the wrong path with them....and they are old as hell.
Now, children, be good. It's "Christmas" time....we all have a new present "Under the bed" to open up....
(translation: let's all be grateful and stop bickering about things we can't change.)
NOW GO LISTEN TO WELCOME 2 MY NIGHTMARE AND SHUT UP!

Annoying when someone makes fun of your age isn't it?GNDM wrote:"Old timer." To you, I suppose so. But I am a year younger than that other "old timer" you idolize. lol

Exactly and as I wrote recently, at exactly the time when the original band is getting so much positive attention. It certainly is a strange time to be complaining.

I wish that people who will attend to this show will have an unforgettable night! As it is an off-tour date, I hope there will be something special.
I am too far to go so, to celebrate this event, I just bought a Japanese copy of the original 'Live at the Whiskey a-go-go' (yes, with the Japanese typo) today
I'm in a hurry to listen to it!

Re: Alice Cooper at the Whisky a Go Go--September 15th.
OK…..was any one there at the Whisky when the band first played it in 1969? Anyone? All righty...anyone ever BEEN to the Whisky – ever? Seen a picture? Heard about it? Old enough to DRINK Whiskey?????
Opened in 1964 on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. The ‘Coopers’ first played there during the first week of January, 1969.
Brief history of The Whisky, mostly from Wikipedia…
The Whisky played an important role in many musical careers, especially for bands based in Southern California. The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Alice Cooper and Love were regulars, and The Doors were the house band for a while—until the debut of the "Oedipal section" of "The End" got them fired. Van Morrison’s band Them had a two-week residency in June, 1966, with The Doors as the opening act. On the last night they all jammed together on "Gloria". Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention got their record contract based on a performance at the Whisky. The Turtles performed there when their newest (and biggest-selling) single "Happy Together” was becoming a hit, only to lose their new bassist, Chip Douglas (who had arranged the song), to the Monkees; guitarist Michael Nesmith invited him to become their producer.
Neil Diamond also played at the Whisky on occasion. Metallica bassist Cliff Burton was recruited by the band after they watched him play a show there. Many British performers made their first headlining performances in the area at the Whisky, including The Kinks, The Who, Cream, Slade, Led Zeppelin, Roxy Music , Oasis. Bouchard, Dunaway, and Smith performed there in August of 2001 (as did Michael Bruce)….at the Glen Buxton Memorial. It was also the site of one of the early performances of Renee and Chelsea Dunaway and there outstanding rendition of Fear the Reaper. Many chants for “More Cowbell” that night!
Today it is a venue for alternative rock, metal, and cover bands. On Friday KLOS will webcast an event with Alice. It will be interesting to see if he plays any of the “oldies”.

I was born in 1970...never been to the whisky...but I have seen pictures and driven past it plenty of times in Los Angeles..but this will be my FIRST time inside the place...it's legendary...especially in the 80's...when HAIR METAL was king...and yes, I am old enough to drink whiskey...I am 41.
I am very excited to see Alice at the Whisky. Listen on the radio for me...haha!

Re: Alice Cooper at the Whisky a Go Go--September 15th.
Wish I had been around to see the band there in 1969, but I have indeed been to the Whisky before and I even played there once. So I'm doubly excited, not only just to see Alice in such a small venue, but to see him playing on a stage that I've played on. Can't drink whiskey for 5 months thoughGNDM wrote:OK…..was any one there at the Whisky when the band first played it in 1969? Anyone? All righty...anyone ever BEEN to the Whisky – ever? To anyone else who's going, what time are you planning on getting there? I'm so bad at judging when's a good time to line up for stuff.

It's being streamed LIVE, so...tonight.
And it looks like Damon will be there, as well as Robby Krieger of The Doors.

According to a post from Glen, the KLOS broadcast will be on a one-hour delay. It starts at 10 PM Pacific time (again, that's according to Glen Sobel's tweet/FB post).

I am going with my friend who is working until 5...but I live in Long Beach, so I should be at the Whisky around 6:30 to line up. The doors open at 7:30. I suspect Alice will start at 9pm.
Message me if you wanna talk more.

However.....the last post that I see on the FB does NOT mention the 1 hour delay. (Unless it's in the comments...but it's not in the post proper.)
