Brutal Planet
Always had the cd and dvd, but just picked up the vinyl from my local record store, had no idea it was a double album ?
Re: Brutal Planet
It was never a double album. When it was originally released on vinyl it was on one disc.jacknifejohnny wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 3:17 amAlways had the cd and dvd, but just picked up the vinyl from my local record store, had no idea it was a double album ?
But when albums are reissued on vinyl they are quite often released as double or even triple vinyl to (theoretically) ensure better sound quality.

Re: Brutal Planet
I guessed it was for the sound quality. Nice Canadian looking album though , although I prefer the old black vinyl look.

Always had a soft spot fort this album. On first listen all those years ago I found it very intense and almost an exhausting listen but grew to appreciate it. The accompanying tour was great.

Is it a Picture Disc or special colored vinyl?jacknifejohnny wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 12:22 pmI guessed it was for the sound quality. Nice Canadian looking album though , although I prefer the old black vinyl look.
Wider grooves would let the needle track deeper & "supposedly"
provide a deeper more balanced bottom end. Have you played it?

I have to agree with both of You...one of my favorites from Him. The one-two punch of the title track and "Wicked Young Man" all but wore Me out!jacknifejohnny wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 9:25 pmCouldn’t agree more Railwayman. Definitely a landmark album

Re: Brutal Planet
This is the 2022 re-issue by eOne, who also did a similar release for Dragontown in 2019.
This particular release was made in two colour variants, 'Brutal Brown' and 'Brutal Bronze'.

Re: Brutal Planet
There's no 'supposedly' about the better sound. Any side of vinyl which surpasses around 20 minutes will result in inferior audio.
