I was just looking through some of my old 45's and came across the Japanese School's Out. It comes a lyric sheet that is very funny in translation. Gutter Cat begins rather splendidly with:
" I'd been an outcast cause we were ****** around ".
The line that made me laugh the most was:
" Eyes clash, claws slash Green-eyed Virgo's fly ".
Does anyone have any Japanese singles and if so do they have any bizzare translations?

Not me; but those really were killer translations!
I don't have them in front of me, but I believe Lynda Henrick (?) made some goofy lyric transcriptions on some of the initial Warner Alice cd releases.
And in other places when she couldn't think of anything she just went ".............. "!

"From the Inside." The REAL first two lines of 'Nurse Rozetta' are:
"I'm a shepherd for the Pentecost I got my scriptures and my wires crossed"
Japanese translation:
"I'm a ship heading toward the Pentecost I have my Bible and I've also laid my electrical wires"
Here's another one -- two REAL lines from 'Wish I Were Born in Beverly Hills':
"She's got her daddy's black Corniche
And her tennis pro by her side"
The Japanese translation:
"The Negro servant her father hired is on one side of her
And a pro tennis player is on her other side."

a lot of lyrics are messed up all over the place. which is why there have never been lyrics on the official web site. at least until this latest mess.
