Alice Cooper 50
2018 will be the fifty year anniversary of the beginning of Alice Cooper. How would you like to mark the anniversary?

Danno , if you'll host one I'll come.
When I die I hope I'm surrounded by burning gas and shattered chrome.

You're on, Wayne! Seriously, I'd love to see a big bash go down, one where all of the people Alice has influenced can get together and sing the praises. I expect that the reissues will happen as part of the commemoration. Hope they let them out one at a time, to lessen the damage on my wallet.MrD Returns wrote:Danno , if you'll host one I'll come.

I'm sure Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin will be at the party.
Re: Alice Cooper 50
I will be playing 50 Alice Cooper songs to mark the day. 25 band and 25 solo. I will then play a round of golf and sacrifice a chicken.

Likely do a marathon of albums and DVDs. Dig my clippings binders out and stroll through them.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

I'd really like to see some solid merchandise. Album logo t-shirts, a big heavy mug for my coffee, magnets for my fridge... Yes, I'm old, but I'm still a kid. It would be interesting to see some stuff for sale out in public as well. There are Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin things for sale all over the place. Why not Cooper, too? It'll be 50 years, dammit!

How about a Coop/Zeppelin tour? It will be their 5oth, too. They could do 60 dates in 3 months, just like the old days.

60 dates in 3 months...like they did for the BDB Tour? That was in 1973. The surviving Members of the ACG are all now either 70 or close to 70 years old. I won't mention LZ.Dannorama wrote:How about a Coop/Zeppelin tour? It will be their 5oth, too. They could do 60 dates in 3 months, just like the old days.
Up to 10-15 dates in major markets would suffice for me. Also, do it with an opening act instead of any co-headlining tour.

Alright. I thought there might be a joke in there which is why I didn't comment on Led Zeppelin taking part in it.pitkin88 wrote:I'm pretty sure he is joking Ted.

Re: Alice Cooper 50
50 years ago, at this time of the year, Alice Cooper was being created. Look at THIS PAGE for details. Chuck Warriner said that sometime between February and March, the band's name had changed, but solid documentation doesn't come until later. March 16, 1968 saw the "official" debut of Alice Cooper at the Earl Warren Showgrounds, opening for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Blue Cheer. The TICKETS AND POSTERS had already been printed with the band still named "The Nazz," but by Renfield's own account, they took the stage as "Alice Cooper." I am sure that there may be some difference of opinion regarding the official date, but the weeks between February and March marked the beginning. Celebrate, fans! Remember the Coop!

We should take time to celebrate "Great Pillows in Alice Cooper History." There's the feather pillows used on stage circa 1969-1970, the red satin pillow in "The Nightmare" video and lest we forget - the infamous pillow in "Me, Alice." That's enough for now. Too much pillow talk gets me down.
