I read the interview with Greg Hampton and he states that he wrote most of the songs on the new cd and he and Danny Saber played about 90% of the guitars on the new one. I was surprised to hear that as I was hoping Alice would have had more of the bands input on the song writing and playing. My personal opinon is when the boys in the band contribute in the writing and playing of a cd, they have a little more at stake and a feeling of ownership and play things like they mean it and not as a bunch of hired guns. Still, the new song sounds pretty good. More along the lines of Brutal Planet, which I think is an amazing disc.
According to the interview it sounds like Hampton played the solo on Vengeance Is Mine. He makes it sound like Keri and Jason weren't involved at all.

it's really growing on me.I like the slower tempo.I see the teaser video is nearing 800 views!
regarding the guitarists since BP-we are counting session guys too? we got roxie (of course),tim pierce, wayne swinny, bob marlette (all on dragontown)
on "eyes" he added eric dover, and wayne kramer guested on "detroit city"
on DD,damon johnson came on board.
currently we have kerri keli and jason hook, and danny saber and greg hampton on the spider sessions.......so,11? 10 if ya don't count roxie since he was pre-brutal,coming on board in the mid-90's.

I've listened to the new song many times over the last week... enough times to feel confident in forming some sort of opinion about it.
While I enjoy the song to a certain degree... I always find something to enjoy with Alice... I have to say I am somewhat underwelmed by it... I expected something more as the first exposure to this long awaited album.
It's a bit more plodding than I'd like, but the guitar work is steller... Slash tears it up and that redeems the song to a certain degree as it would certainly be a whole lot less interesting without his contribution.
The mere fact that it's the first song they felt obliged to reveal leaves me scratching my head a bit, as more often than not, the better tracks are usually released first, though not always.
I really expected something a lot more rocking (and melodic) considering the subject matter and hope this song is not indicative of the rest of the material as a whole.

Well Halloween is my very favorite holiday. I celebrate it all month long by watching horror movies, and listening to the darker Alice albums, Van Helsing's Curse etc. I only listen to these albums then, so the month retains that special vibe. I do listen to Alice throughout the year. I just reserve Killer, BDB, WTMN, TLT, BP, DT and Freedom for Frankenstein for October. And ACAS will most likely become part of that rotation. It also prevents me from getting burned out on these albums too.
Does that explains it at all?
And yes I know I am strange.

I like the songs and agree a little BP sounding which is one of my fav albums. Think the production is great also with the drums and guitar sounding FULL. I know Kerri did write a bit 4 new album how much made the final cut I'm unsure but I'm really looking fwd to this album. I have high expectations esp after hearing Vengence Is Mine!
