Well you can't teach an old bear new tricks. It's the same old ingredients in a new setting. But it's done in a very professional way.
If photography is anything like illustration, it's rarely the artist who makes the choice of the content. But I could be wrong.
I still feel bad about the Brutal Planet cover, it was a great concept but the photos... I'm sorry to say it but that was amateurish, the effects were even worse. My biggest dream would be to get to design a cover for ALice one day, and that one really hurt. I know I could have done better.
But this new set? That's so good. The photos are crisp, the colours are right and calibrated so they even look good on the internet. Super pro work! I can only bow to that!

In relation to the Brutal Planet pics and cover, when I first eyed them I thought of the desolate setting of the concept; how everything looked dark and raw, unfocued maybe. But Alice's eyes in those shots describe everything that's going on on the album... I've resembled the shot on the back cover after a few dozen pints so I know how cruel the world can be. :guntohead:
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

Shoe, the _concept_ was great, one of the best Alice ever had. But the fabrication was very unprofessional. Out of focus ,why not but not a crappy shot that looks it was taken by a disposable camera, or at least use something else than cheap photoshop effects to work on them. It really sad to waste such a cool concept.
Any graphic designer would tell you the same, if you want that dirty, dark look you have to work even harder than for other things, this one looked like it had taken 5 minutes to slap together.
Is my memory muddled (probably) or was it Kane Roberts or another ex-musician of Alice's who did this? I'm not saying they can't also know how to use a graphic program, I should know, but it wasn't the best choice I'm sorry to say.
