I saw the dress rehearsal tonight for the new tour.

The tour starts tomorrow, so they did a free dress rehearsal [free drinks too] inside at the casino. It's weird seeing Alice in a room with no more than 75 people. It was invitation only. They played a full show from start to finish. The screw ups were there and I thought actually added to the show. At one point, the show stopped completely and Alice said "this won't happen tomorrow night." It was funny, in all of the times I have seen him, I have never seen a "candid" moment i guess. His voice was great throughout the show and the band was tight, though I think the sound guys were missing "solo" cues right and left which really irks me. [When Jason solos, he should be up in the mix. . . ] There is a lot i would like to say, but do not want to be a spoiler. In closing i would say, as always, go. I think hardcore fans will be a little disappointed by song selection, but every true fan will be excited about something. oh - the other moment. The show was over and Callico could not find her glasses. They got knocked off during the show and she was on stage for some time looking everywhere on the ground. I hope she found them.

And.....when you mention Jason.....do you mean Damon? Jason's not in the band. (Damon has a beard, Keri does not--of the 2 current guitarists. unless Damon has shaved very recently)

Cool. I can't wait to read the first reviews. As long as you put a spoiler warning in the title of your post it's not a problem, quite the opposite. Most of us who can't see the show until later want to know!

I don't think anyone expects a major setlit change it has always contained the "main" skeleton with just the "fleshing out" changing from tour to tour.

I don't even expect such a huge change in the show, the main idea is always the same but there are all the little details that I am curious about.

It's weird seeing Alice in a room with no more than 75 people.

That's what I felt when we got to attend rehearsals for the Supergroup show in Boston back in April. Spending 3 hours in a tiny room with Alice, Ace Frehley, Teddy "Zig Zag", Chad Smith, Barry Goudreau was incredible. It makes you feel (well, it did me and I AM nobody) like you "are" somebody, and the people that don't know you wonder if you are.

Unlike you, I did not get to see a rehearsal for an actual ALICE show but rather see him do 4 or 5 songs of his (to be performed with the Supergroup) a few times through along with some Rolling Stones and a few others.


I am very happy for you, because like for myself, it is probably once in a lifetime.
