The title says it all....What if Alice covered this song? Can you think of some great song maybe no one has ever heard of, by a band no one has ever heard of?
Maybe it is a famous group, and you think the song would be better if sung by Alice.
What about---
Puddle of Mudd--Psycho
Elbow--The Fix
Queen--I'm Going Slightly Mad
If you haven't heard these songs, research the internet.

Iron Maiden? I can't imagine it myself. Perhaps something from the Dianno era but any Dickinson era Maiden would have to be sung a key lower for Alice which just wouldn't work (in my opinion ofcourse!).GailsFriend wrote:If you DISCUSS songs that would be cool for Alice Cooper to cover....it is a DISCUSSION, right?
I think Alice could pull off an Iron Maiden tune....
For some bizarre reason i've always thought it would be interesting to hear Alice covering 'Wish You Were Here' by Pink Floyd. I'd love to know what he would do vocally on this.

I think Alice's voice goes higher than you think....
Alice could sing Iron Maiden....Can I Play With Madness, 2 Minutes to Midnight, and Number of the Beast would be cool as hell....
but, I really don't want Alice to sing it like Bruce.
Alice sang "Because" by the Beatles....but, it was completely different and fit so well.

There is absolutely no way Alice could sing any of those songs! Seriously, have another listen to them, Alice wouldn't get anywhere near those notes. And that isnt a dig at Alice at all, it's just a simply fact about his vocal range.GailsFriend wrote:I think Alice's voice goes higher than you think....

The group's name was Brownsville Station. And I thought it sounded like an Alice song back then too.jacknifejohnny wrote:" Paint It Black "Thats a great choice, i think "Smoking In The Boys Room" is pure Alice. When this song was originally released in "74" i thought it could have been Alice. I think the bands name was "Brownsville Park Station", or something like that.

Yeah, smokin' in the boys room
What about some W.A.S.P. songs like Tormentor or L.O.V.E. Machine? Would be at least interesting, eh..?

Wasn't there a thread like this before? Anyway, except for Paint It Black, I can't imagine hearing him sing any of the others. I want him to do Happy Together, doing both vocal lines on the verse, a la DBD. Naturally, he would get Flo & Eddie to do the back ups. Other than that, In My Room in the nasally, sinister tone.

Changed my mind with Tormentor, but L.O.V.E. Machine would be cool

Cool from West Side Story.
And just for a christmas single or something I think him covering The Night Santa Went Crazy by "Weird Al" Yankovic would be great.

I would love to see what he could do with Weird Al Yankovic's 'Christmas at Ground Zero'. I'm sure Alice spent some time 'ducking under cover' in school!

Would be great for Alice to do a covers album so many songs that given the Alice treatment would be worth hearing.
I've always said he should rock out the number 1 hit 'Angie Baby' by Helen Reddy, the lyrics are so Alice!
lyrics copyright 1974 Alan O'Day
You live your life in the songs you hear
On the rock and roll radio
And when a young girl doesn't have any friends
That's a really nice place to go
Folks hoping you'd turn out cool
But they had to take you outta school
You're a little touched you know, Angie Baby
Lovers appear in your room each night
And they whirl you across the floor
But they always seem to fade away
When your daddy taps on your door
Angie girl, are you all right
Tell the radio good-night
All alone once more, Angie Baby
Angie Baby, you're a special lady
Living in a world of make-believe
Well, maybe
Stopping at her house is a neighbor boy
With evil on his mind
'Cause he's been peeking in Angie's room
At night through her window blind
I see your folks have gone away
Would you dance with me today
I'll show you how to have a good time, Angie Baby
When he walks in her room,
He feels confused like he's walked into a play
And the music's so loud it spins him around
'Til his soul has lost its way
And as she turns the volume down
He's getting smaller with the sound
It seems to pull him off the ground
Toward the radio he's bound never to be found
The headlines read that a boy disappeared
and everyone thinks he died
'Cept a crazy girl with a secret lover
Who keeps her satisfied
It's so nice to be insane
No one asks you to explain
Radio by your side, Angie Baby
Angie Baby, you're a special lady
Living in a world of make-believe
Well, maybe
Well, maybe

Re: If Alice covered this song, it would be so cool....
A couple of years back Wednesday 13 did a song called Ghost of Vincent Price, i think it would be a very apt, a very fitting tribute to both the past and the future if Alice covered said song.
I'm at war with myself and nobody else.... i'm in danger.....
