Alice remembers the legendary Dick Clark who passed away yesterday: "I used to come home from elementary school to watch American Bandstand. It had all the new songs, all the new dances, and it had the happiest guy in the world presenting them to you. I had no idea that later in my career I would know Dick Clark on a professional level. I ran into him some years ago, and he said to me “Hey Coop, if you had your own radio show, what would it be like?” I told him it would be more like the free form FM stations of the 60’s, where the DJ’s actually played what they liked and demographics didn’t play a role. He said ‘Alice, why don’t you do it then?’ Just like that, my radio show Nights With Alice Cooper was born. It's been 9 years later and I’m still on the air! And let me just add that NOBODY loved rock 'n' roll more than Dick Clark!"
I'm getting a lot of emails about the new Alice Cooper biography due in June. I have mentioned it here a couple of times since it first turned up on Amazon a few months ago, but as people seem to have missed it here's the links and info again: Entitled 'Welcome To My Nightmare: The Alice Cooper Story' it's written by Dave Thomson and published by Omnibus Press on June 13th in the UK and and September 1st in the USA. The discription says: "Drawing from exclusive and unpublished interviews with a variety of names and faces from throughout Alice’s career, the book follows Cooper’s tale from his life growing up as a preacher’s son in Arizona, through the early years of struggle in Phoenix and then Los Angeles, and then onto the rollercoaster ride that has been the years since then.Includes interviews with original bandmates Michael Bruce and the late Glenn Buxton, drummer Neal Smith, the late Frank Zappa, manager Shep Gordon and producer Bob Ezrin."

After Alice let it slip on 'Nights With Alice Cooper' a couple of weeks ago, it's now been officially confirmed that Ryan Roxie is back in the band. In the press release Alice says "It's great to bring Ryan back into the fold. This band just destroys on stage, and with Ryan back on board, he will only kick things into a higher gear. Ryan Roxie is a fan favorite. He plays like a tornado, and we can't wait to turn him loose and let him tear into this tour." As expected the rest of the band is unchanged with Chuck Garric on bass, Glen Sobel on drums and Tommy Henriksen and Orianthi on guitars along with Roxie.
