Mick Mashbir contributes to the 'Velvet Saints' upcoming CD titled "Shadows". Mick was in the Alice Cooper band during the Billion Dollar Babies and Muscle of Love years. He plays on two Velvet Saints tracks, 'Hate' and 'Break You Down'. "Alice is a big influence on our songs, especially in the dark sinister kind of way," say Jeff Epperson of Velvet Saints. "I approached Mick about playing on the CD and sent him the basic tracks to work with. Within a few days, he presented us with his tracks and they had the exact groove and feel we were looking for. He definitely understood the direction we were headed. We are looking forward to collaborating with him soon on the 3rd CD."
Banger Films, the company behind 'Super Duper Alice Cooper', are searching for ZZ Top footage from the '70s (or '60s, including their former bands). ZZ Top of course opened for Alice Cooper in 1973. If anyone out there can help you can send responses to firstname.lastname@example.org with "ZZ Top Fan Submission - Footage" in the Subject line.
Many of you have probably already seen the current Twitter "spat" between legendary Alice Cooper producer Bob Ezrin, and rapper/professional egotist Kanye West. Bob apparently wrote a piece which refered to West's “excessive behavior, egomaniacal tantrums and tasteless grandstanding” to which the talentless rapper responded with a rant that began with "Has anybody ever heard of Bob Ezrin???", thus showing how little he actually knows about real music. Twitter exploded, which probably his aim all along, unless he really is that stupid. You can read his posts here. That wasn`t the end of it though when another rapper called 'Young Platinum' also saw an opportunity for self-promotion and took to twitter pretending to be Ezrin to respond to West. The whole thing escalated resulting in national and international coverage.

After a seemingly interminable wait The Hollywood Vampires took the stage last night at the Grammy Awards, introduced by Dave Grohl, and stole the show with 'Bad As I Am' running into a shortened 'Ace Of Spades' . As at previous shows Alice, Johnny and Joe were backed by Duff and Matt from Guns n' Roses as well as Tommy Henriksen (although you barely saw him on TV) and Bruce Witkin.
There's a fair amount of press this morning surrounding the appearance, although you'll have to look around to find the actual performance due to copyright. As of writing you can see it at Fansided, and there's a short clip at the Hollywood Reporter but these may be removed. Most of the press doesn`t really say that much but just take quotes from interviews like Artisan News, Billboard, Entertainment City, and E!. Maybe the funniest one is the Daily Mail's silly headline, but it does have some nice photos!
The Hollywood Vampires play the Grammys tonight, apparently performing 'Bad As I Am' going into 'Ace Of Spades'. Artisan News have footage from rehearsals and an interview with Alice, Perry and Depp while USA Today also have a chat.
