Happy New Year

As usual Alice spent the new year in Hawaii and performed at Shep Gordon’s annual jam in aid of the Maui Food Bank at Wailea Beach Resort, along with Steven Tyler and Mick Fleetwood. Songs performed included ‘Brown Sugar‘, ‘No More Mr Nice Guy‘,  ‘Under My Wheels‘,  ‘I’m Eighteen‘,  ‘Poison‘ and ‘School’s Out‘,  Family and band members were also there including Sheryl, Calico, Chuck, Glen and Nita, who backed various other performers over the course of the evening including Disturbed’s David Draiman on ‘The Sound Of Silence‘ and Wonder Woman Lynda Carter.
Alice will reportedly remain on the island and, as last year, will perform at Willie K’s Bluesfest at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on January 5th.

Between February 28th and March 3rd Alice will be taking part in the annual “Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament Jam” in Palm Springs which on February 28th includes a “Story Behind The Story: Songwriter’s Night”.

Ryan spent his New Year in Paso Roboles, CA performing with a reformed Glamnation along with Eric Dover and Teddy ZigZag!

There’s a few other things to catch up on from the Xmas week:

The Guardian had a short interview with Alice, parts of which have been repeated on numerous other sites. It’s nothing particularly new, just Alice again talking about his dislike of mixing politics and music, but as has happened previous times other sites have grabbed hold of the comments and built their own news stories around them.

According to an interview with Joe Perry the new Hollywood Vampire’s album is currently at the mixing stage and he hopes the band will play more shows this summer.

Rue Morgue Records have posted an article telling the story of the ‘Live From The Astroturf’ album with lots of photos and background info on the release.

Neal Smith is interviewed by Hollywood Soapbox promoting his ‘Best Of KillSmith’ CD which is out now.

Nita Strauss is interviewed by ‘The Roman Show‘ which you can see on YouTube. There’s also an interview with Nita at WSOU over at Soundcloud. Nita also came in a #6 on Ultimate Guitar‘s ‘Guitarist of the Year 2018’!

WhatsupNW have a long article about the Alice Cooper stage play ‘Shock Opera’ which background on the actors and photos. Check out the facebook page for more info.
