New York Film Event Announces More Guests

More guests announced for New York Film Show

As previously mentioned both ‘Live From The Astroturf, Alice Cooper’ and ‘Cold Cold Coffin’ will be shown at during a special evening at Theatre 80 St Marks in New York on August 14th. More details on the event have been announced.
Each film showing will be followed by a brief Q&A, Calico Cooper will be doing a special performance to “Cold Cold Coffin”, and then Chuck Garric and Calico will perform their Beasto Blanco version of ‘Feed My Frankenstein.’ Guitarist extraordinaire Ryan Roxie will also be there playing along with Dennis Dunaway and ‘Snake Charm’ featuring Nick Didkovsky and Russ Wilson with background vocals compliments of the Darlings of The Demented, Tish and Snooky of Manic Panic fame. Signed Calico Angel posters and ‘Snakes! Guillotines! Electric Chairs!’ books, as well as some rare memorabilia will also be available for purchase. You don’t want to miss this one if you can get there. Tickets are available now.

It’s no surprise that Lzzy Hale has joined the band during ‘School’s Out’ a couple more times this week, but in Cedar Park, TX they were also joined by Hollywood Vampire Joe Perry, presumably on route to meet up with the rest of the Vampires for the ‘Late Late Show’ performance the following night.
The TV performance was perhaps a little disappointing, in that the band only performed ‘heroes’ again, as with their last TV appearance. There was also a short skit at the beginning of the show, with Alice showing Joe and Johnny the chords to the song in the dressing room, but no interview or other content. A short video posted by Glen Sobel showed they also played ‘I Want My Now’ so maybe that will show up sometime later.

Goldmine Magazine has posted their feature on the original band which has quotes from Dennis, Neal and Michael about the split and reunions.

‘Breadcrumbs’ EP coming In September

Alice Cooper announces new ‘Breadcrumbs’ EP

Breadcrumbs EP

On September 13th EarMusic will release Alice Cooper’s tribute to the ‘Garage Rock Heroes’ from his hometown Detroit City. Entitled ‘The Breadcrumbs EP’, it features six brand new recordings and will be available both as a digital download and on limited edition (20,000), numbered 10” Vinyl. The six tracks are as follows:

1. Detroit City 2020
2. Go Man Go
3. East Side Story
4. Your Mama Won’t Like Me
5. Devil In A Blue Dress/Chains Of Love
6. Sister Anne

‘Detroit City 2020’ is presumably an updated version of the Alice Cooper song from ‘The Eyes Of Alice Cooper’.
‘East Side Story’ is likely an early Bob Seger song released as ‘The Last Heard’ in 1966.
‘Your Mama Won’t Like Me’ is the title of a 1975 Suzi Quatro song and album.
‘Devil In A Blue Dress’ is likely a cover of a 1964 Shorty Long song, later covered by ‘Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels’, which reached #4 on the Billboard charts in 1966.
‘Sister Anne’ is likely a cover of the MC5 song from 1971.
‘Go Man Go’ appears to be a new original song.
Alice spoke about recording material in Detroit in recent interviews and among the names listed on the cover are Johnny “Bee” Badanjek (Detroit Wheels, Bob Seger, and who was on ‘Welcome To My Nightmare’), Mark Farmer (Grand Funk Railroad), Wayne Kramer (MC5), Paul Randolph and Mick Collins.

In other news the Hailstorm co-headline leg of the ‘Ol Black Eyes Is Back’ tour began on Wednesday and fans will be glad to know Alice is playing last, and performing the full show on these dates. NO songs have been cut for these shows. Going by videos from the tour the band are on fire this year, and Alice is sounding amazing! For the first show they were also join by Lzzy Hale for ‘School’s Out‘ in what is unlikely to be her only guest appearance.

Speaking of guests, Dennis Dunaway again joined the band at the Cleveland show. Not big surprise as he was in town for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s ‘Alice Cooper Fan Day’ the same day. At the Rock Hall Dennis, Joe and Albert Bouchard (Blue Coupe) were interviewed, and also performed on the outside stage with the local ‘School Of Rock’.
Dennis is also interviewed by ‘My Global Mind‘ discussing the ‘Live From The Astroturf, Alice Cooper’ film amongst other things.

Cleveland Scene have a review and photos from the Cleveland show and Ultimate Classic Rock also has photos. They also have a new article about ‘The Last Temptation’ album.

Fox8 (via Blabbermouth as Fox8 is blocked outside the USA) have a news story reporting Alice and Sheryl showed up at a Northeast Ohio church on Sunday to take part in the service and talk about how his religion has effected their lives.
UPDATE: You can see more footage here.

TribLive have a new interview with Alice.

New Tour Kicks Off At Foxwoods

New Alice Cooper show rocks Foxwoords

Details are coming through about last nights tour opener at Foxwoods and all reports and video confirm it’s a brand new show with an amazing set list that should really please and surprise many fans. We asked for some of these songs for years, and it appears we’ve got them. Good show Alice! No spoilers here (it’s all on facebook anyway), but if you absolutely have to know before you see your show the full list is in the ‘setlists‘ section.
As had already been revealed the new stage set is a castle-like affair with ramps above, Glenn off to one side and various areas for “surprises” to enter the stage. The guillotine is still there (hard to not include it) but there appear to be a few new toys to play with including a giant baby! All in all it looks really good!
To add icing to the cake, last night’s ‘School’s Out’ also saw a guest appearance by Dennis Dunaway!

In other news, the Roxodus Music Fest on July 13th has been canceled. There had been reports for the last couple of weeks that the festival was having a few problems with licenses etc but it appeared everything was sorted out and the show would go ahead. However on Wednesday it was confirmed all three days were canceled due to “tremendous rainy weather”, which locals found odd as there hadn’t been any rain. Oh well. For those with tickets refund should be announced soon if not already, but Kitchener’s ‘Slamfest’ have announced they will honor all Roxodus tickets if you apply in advance. Not the same, as obviously Alice won’t be there, but could be an option if you are interested.

Blue Coupe have posted a video of ‘School’s Out‘ from the Sweden Rock Festival with guest Ryan Roxie. It’s a professionally shot video and it seems more of the show will be forthcoming.

The Bristol Observer has a short new interview with Alice talking about his relationship with Bob Ezrin. Check it out here.

Get more details and tickets here.

Sometime last year it was announced that Alice would be voicing a character in Disney Channels ‘Mickey and the Roadster Racers’ and after a very long wait that episode will finally air on Friday July 5th. The segment is called ‘Goof Quest’ and features Alice as ‘Alistair Coop De Ville’.

Alice appears in an amusing new advert for Peter Frampton’s US tour which you can see on facebook.

Nita Strauss recalls her first meeting with Alice in a new interview with WMMR which you can listen to courtesy of Blabbermouth. There’s also a short interview at ‘National Rock Review

The band played a mixture of Cooper and Blue Oyster Cult classics with Ryan Roxie sitting in, including a storming version of ‘Black Juju’. You can find a couple of clips of the show on YouTube. The band also performed a short acoustic show and you can watch that via Twitch if you scroll forward to around 4 hours 20 minutes. Dennis Dunaway will take part in “The Art Of The Interview” at the ‘Niagara’ in New York City on June 24th. This appears to be an interview event with DD talking to author/filmmaker Steven Blush, but as with many of Dennis’ events you never know what will happen!

Nita Strauss appeared on US radio show ‘Full Metal Jackie’ over the weekend and Loudwire have transcribed some of the interview.
